1) ふんわりした心 / Softer Heart

友人の水野 結実さんは、毎年、鎌倉の"onari cafe"で個展をしています。

昨年、私は彼女の個展開催中には英国に居たので見る事ができませんでしたが、
今年は日本に居ます！

個展のDMが届いた時から、今回はどんな感じかな〜と想像をふくらましつつ、
楽しみにしていました。

DMの絵柄を見て、今までで一番好き〜と感じていました。

彼女は『たのしい川辺』を知っているのかしら〜？

彼女の絵の雰囲気が、E•H•シェパード (1879 - 1976) の絵の『たのしい川辺』を
思い出させたのです。

『たのしい川辺』: 英語版1908, ケネス •グレアム (1859 - 1932)

日本語版1940, , 抄訳:中野好夫 (1903 - 1985) 
1963, 訳：石井桃子(1907 - 2008), 岩波書店

他に『ヒキガエルの冒険』『川べにそよ風』『川べのゆかいな仲間たち』などの
題名もあります。

英語版も日本語版もイラストレーションは、複数の方が描かれているようで、時代を問わず人気がある作品なのだと思います。(訳も複数)

あとで、彼女が『たのしい川辺』を知らなかったと聴き、少し驚きました。

絵の感じだけでなく、彼女の世界とE•H•シェパード の絵による『たのしい川辺』が私の中ではかなり近くあったからです。(ストーリーは違います）

ただ、今回、新しく知ったことは『たのしい川辺』は英国階級社会の風刺だとのことで、私は今まで少しもそのことには気がつきませんでした。

私は『たのしい川辺』の'楽しい'に浮かれていたのですね。

彼女の世界には風刺要素はないように感じています。

ないですよね？水野さん？？？

Softer Heart

My friend, Yumi Mizuno has her exhibition every year in "onari cafe". 

While she had her exhibition last year, I visited Britain so I could not come, now I am in Japan, I can come.

Since her DM arrived I had guessed how it would be and had been looking forwards to visiting.

I looked at the DM's picture, I felt I liked it the most so far.

I wondered if she knew "The Wind in the Willows: 1908, Kenneth Grahame (1859 - 1932).

Because her picture reminds me of E.H.Shepard (1879 - 1976).

The book has had a few illustrators so far, although I guess E.H.Shepard is the most popular.

Later I knew she did not know "The Wind in the Willows", and then I was a little surprised, because it is not only the pictures but also her world is very close to the world of E.H.Shepard's "The Wind in the Willow" for me. (The stories are different.)

I only heard recently that they say "The Wind in the Willows" is a satire about British class society, I hadn't known that at all. 

I had just been fanned by the willow in the wind.

In my view, Yumi's world does not have satire, Mizuno San, it does not have, does it?


2) カフェ / Cafe

初日の11月1日にさっそく行きました。
たくさんの絵があり、驚きました。
がんばったのね〜、すごい！すごい！
彼女が体調を崩していることを知っていたので、ちょっと心配にもなりました...。

撮影していて気がついたのは、反射がない！ということ、
額がないのです...
昨年の個展から額に入れないことにしたと彼女が言っていました。

額がないほうが身近に感じられますね。
水野さんの世界と、会場がカフェであるという事を考えあわせると
額なしの方が彼女の個性をより強調すると感じました。
また、彼女のblog (★) もとても親しみがあります。
彼女の絵もblogも彼女のふんわりとした心があり、ぬくもりがあります。
人々は彼女の心とぬくもりを求めてその世界を訪れたがる、
触れたがるのだと思います。
やはり、額はいらないのですよね。

I hurried there on the first day.
There were many pictures and I was surprised.
She worked hard for her exhibition, Well done!  

I know her condition is not well, so I worried about her, too...

私が最も好きな絵は左から２番め（下に拡大)。
彼女は同じ構図で2枚描いて、そのうち１枚を展示していました。
自分で納得するまで描いたのですね。

My favourite work is the second from the left. (above)
She drew two of the same composition and then she displayed one of them.
She worked until she became satisfied.

ピクニック/ Picnic

Her blog : ★

While I photographed, I realized there was no reflection,
because they were not framed.
She said she had decided to show her work without a frame before last year.
I feel her works without frames are closer to us.
In my view, her way emphasizes her individuality 
in taking her world and the exhibition space of the cafe into consideration.
Also her blog (★) is very familiar.
There we can see her soft heart and warmth in her pictures and in her blog as well.
People would like to touch the heart and the warmth so, they would visit her world.
Therefore they do not need a frame. 

昨年の絵も少し展示されていました。
私は見る事ができなかったので、嬉しい！

There were a few of her works from last year.
I could not see them before, so I was glad.

今年の絵のポスカードが欲しかったのですが、
残念ながらありませんでした。

ところで、"onari cafe"が随分様変わりしていたので、驚きました。
鎌倉というよりも湘南という感じでしょうか？
実は私はここを知った当時の方が好きです。

I would buy this year's post-cards, unfortunately there were none.

By the way, "onari cafe" takes on a different appearance.
It might be Shounan rather than Kamakura. 
Actually I prefer the cafe as it was when I found it.

あたたかな気持ちになりに、どうぞ彼女の世界へいらしてください。
