B&B ：Riverdale House を車で出発し、最初にサウスダウン/ South Downs の
ヴューポイントのひとつである"High and Over"に寄りました。
サウスダウン/ South Downs は、670k㎡ : ハンプシャーのイーチン谷/ Itchen Vally
白亜の丘陵地帯のことです。
この周辺はサウスダウン国立公園に指定されています。
"High and Over"はカックミア谷 / Cuckmere Valleyの中にあります。

Firstly we dropped into "High and Over" which is a South Downs view point.
South Downs are chalk hills of about 670k㎡ running from the Itchen Valley in Hampshire to Eastbourne.
These hills are now the South Downs National Park.
The "High and Over" is in Cuckmere Valley.

| カックミア谷 / "Cuckmere Valley"
この谷には４つの村:
Alfriston, Litlington, Lullington, West Dean
があります。
There are four villages within the Cuckmere Valley : Alfriston, Litlington, Lullington and West Dean.  流れる川はカックミア川 川の語源は古英語の'速く流れる'という意味からと言われています。 この周辺は氾濫源です。 The river is "Cuckmere River ". They say the name comes from an Old English word meaning 'fast-flowing'. This area is a flood plain.  むこうの丘陵地帯のどこかに サウス ダウンズ ウエイ/ 'South Downs Way' が通っています。 このときは、むこうの景色ばかりに気をとられていたのですが、 実は自分たちが立っているこちらの丘には ホワイト ホース / 'White Horse'の巨大な絵: ヒルフィギュアが 石灰石(チョーク)で描かれていたのです。 30日に'White Horse'を見に再びここにやってきました。 (別のセクションに載せます: 下記) 9️⃣ -1)サセックスの旅 / The Trip in Sussex - South Downs; White Horse, 30th of August in 2013 Over on the those hills runs 'South Downs Way'. On the day, we came here, my mind was focused over there, however, this hill we were standing on has a hill figure : 'White Horse'; I did not know at that time.
