ローズ ガーデン/ Rose Garden

いくつかのローズガーデンを見たので、時間がなかったらここはパス！と思っていました。
でも、せっかくだからと、時間がない中でも、結局ローズガーデンも見たのです。
ここに来て一番良かったのは、'修道士カドフェル/ Brother Cadfael 'という名前のついた薔薇をRが見つけたことでした。
私は、『修道士カドフェル』のシリーズが好きなので、このブログにもそれに関することを書いていました(下記)。

I have looked at a few rose gardens before, so I thought if I do not have enough time, I could omit this rose garden.
I felt I did not have time, however, I was passing so I looked at the garden.
The best thing was that R found a rose whose name is 'Brother Cadfael '.

この薔薇が開発された
カドフェルの物語の舞台となった場所と近いそうです！
育種者はこの世界ではかなり有名な方らしいです。
デビッド•オースティン/ David Austin (1926 - )氏。
日本語のサイト：★もあります。
そのサイトから下記
"エリス・ピーターの探偵小説に登場する、
中世のシュロップシャー州が舞台の、
シュルーズベリー修道院ベネディクト会の修道士
に由来します。"

which are set in the same area as our nursery."
R の経験では、横浜の住宅展示場内にある
'イングリッシュガーデンセンター'の薔薇は
デビッド•オースティン氏からの供給だそうです。
R said that David Austin supplies roses for
"English Garden Center" in 'Show Houses Exhibition'
in Yokohama, Japan.

シーズンには、やはり、遅かったようですが、それでもいくつかきれいな薔薇が咲いているのが見られました。
地面が乾いてひび割れ、水不足である状態が見られました。
多くの花びらが縮れているのも、水不足かな〜と...
I saw cracks in the ground so I felt there was lack of water and many crinkled petals.
I guessed the reason was lack of water...???
