❷江ノ島へ / To Enoshima Island

1) 江ノ島 / Enoshima Island 

入り口付近にいた猫
これ以後何回となく江ノ島で猫に出会いましたが、
いずれの猫もすごく大きいのです。

The Cat is by the Entrance.
Later I saw many cats on the island, every cat is big.

青銅の鳥居
1747年に創建され、1821年に改修。

Bronze Gate
Built in 1747, repaired in 1821.

なんて書いてあるのでしょうか？
江島弁財天?
弁財天信仰の象徴ではあるけれど、
江戸時代は遊郭だったようです。

What is the writing?
Enoshima Benzaiten?
It shows the cult of Benzaiten,
although here was a red light district in Edo period.

参道
Rが「ちょっと『千と千尋の神隠し』(2001)のようだ」
と言ったので、そう言われれば....そうと..？
2004年に"江ノ島アイランドスパ"(スーパー銭湯)が
島の右(北)側にできました。
この建物は英国ウエールズの"ポートメイリオン"を
思い出させました。
"ポートメイリオン"は食器でも有名ですが、
日本では"ポートメイリオン"のホテルをロケ地として使用した
「プリズナーNo.6」というドラマが有名なのかも....?

江戸時代、ここが遊郭であったことを考えあわせると、
「プリズナーNo.6」のロケ地であったり、
『千と千尋の神隠し』を思い出す雰囲気があったりするのが、
わかるような気がします。
どちらも閉ざされていた世界ですものね。
(私は「プリズナーNo.6」は見ていませんが.....)

The Approach to the Shrine 
R said 'Here is a little like "Spirited Away"(2001)'
as he had said it, I could feel that too .....?
'Enoshima Island Spa' was opened in 2004 
on the north side of the island. 
The building reminds me of 'Portmierion' in Wales. 
'Portmierion' is famous for tableware, 
although in Japan, it might be more famous as 
the location of the TV series "The Prisoner".

If I think about a red light district, I could understand that
the atmosphere reminds me of  "Spirited Away" and 
the location of "The Prisoner".
All the worlds are closed.
(However, I have not watched "The Prisoner". )

江ノ島エスカー(1959~)
日本初の野外エスカレーターが設置されています。
軟弱な私達はこれを利用して登ります。
ですが、下りはないので、
登ったら自分の足で降りなければなりません！

'Enoshima Escar'(1959~)
It is the first outdoor escalator in Japan. 
We are weak, so we use this.
However, we must go down on foot, 
because the escalator only goes up!  

弁財天(サラヴァティ)は水の神様
Benzaiten: Saraswati is Goddess of water.

江ノ島の絵地図
弁天様の島なので、この神様が持つ琵琶に絵が描かれています。
でも最初はなんだかわかりませんでした.....
弁天様は水に関する場所に祭られることが多いので、
水の女神様であり、また芸能の女神様としても信仰されています。
ミューズに似ているようです...？

They say this lsland is for Benzaiten: Saraswati, 
so the Goddess has an instrument :biwa.
The map is on the biwa, although I did not understand it 
when I first saw it.
The Goddess  is deified close to water or in relation to water,
 so people believe the Goddess is the water Goddess 
and also the Goddess is for the performing arts.
I feel the Goddess is similar to the Muse.

江ノ島ハーバー
1964年、東京オリンピックの時にはヨット競技場でした。

Enoshima Harbour
It was the Olympic Harbour in the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 1964.

まだ神社があります。
Another Shrine!

また登ります。
Another Escalator!

元気な人は歩いて登ります。
素晴らしい！
Fit people walk up themselves.
Great!

今からタワーにのぼります。
エレベーターを使用。

Now we are going up the Tower.
We use a lift.

  タワーの展望台
The Observation Platform in the Tower,

外の通路で帰る人もいます。
見るだけで、足が震えます〜！

Some people return by the outside route.
Just looking at it, my legs are shaking~!

一つのドアを開けると、そこには別の世界が....
Open a door, there should be another world.....

勇気を出して野外展望台にあがってみました。
I used my bravery and we are on the outdoor observation platform!

洞窟へ行ってみたい！
I want to go the cave!

ここもちょっと『千と千尋の神隠し』のよう...
Here is a little bit like "Spirited Away",too....

結局、洞窟へは行きませんでした。

250段の階段を下りてまた登って来なければならないと知ったので、リハビリ中の私には危険に思われたからです。

元気になっても、もっと時間余裕がなければ、チャレンジできない所です。

帰りはゆっくり歩きながら下山？

富士山がきれいに見えました。

After all we did not got the cave, because we were told we must use 250 steps going down and up, but I am still in rehabilitation time and 
I feel danger.

Even when  I become fine, when I challenge there, I would give myself enough time. 

When we were on our way back, we walked down slowly.

We saw a beautiful Mt. Fuji.

次回、江ノ島へ来るのはいつになるでしょうか？

When do I come to Enoshima Island next time?
