シャトルバスが修道院とビクトリア調の庭 (Victorian Walled Garden) を15分間隔で走っています。
The shuttle bus connects the Abbey with the Victorian Walled Garden every 15 minutes.

ビクトリア調ガーデン (Victorian Walled Garden) は、19年世紀後半には、城と一緒に開発され、温室 (Glass Houses) 21個と庭師40人がいました。

ミッチェル・ヘンリー  (1826 -1910) は、妻、マーガレット(1829 -1874) のために城と庭を作ったのです。

年が過ぎるにつれて、庭は衰退しました。

修道女たちは1995年に復元プログラムを開始し、2000年には庭園が公開されました。

Path to divide the gardens between North and South

Developed along with the Castle in the late 19th Century, the Victorian Walled Garden had 21 'Glass Houses' and 40 gardeners.

Mitchell Henry (1826 - 1910) made the Castle as well as the Garden for his wife, Margaret (1829 -1874).

As the years passed the garden fell into decline.

The nuns began an extensive programme of restoration in 1995 and in the year 2000 the Garden was opened to the public.

約6エーカー(24388㎡)の庭園は、小川(10) によって、2つに分かれています。

東部(右)の半分には整形式庭園(4)、温室(6)、庭小屋(7)、庭師の親方の家(8) があり、

西側(左)には野菜園(14)、果樹、ロックガーデン(11)、ハーブガーデン(13) があります。

Approximately 6 acres gardens are divided into two by by stream(10) .

Half of the eastern part (right) has 'Formal Flower Garden'(4), 'Glass Houses' (6),

the 'Head Gardener's House' (8) and 'Garden Bothy'(7).

On the western part (left) there are Kitchen Gardens(14), fruit trees,

'Rocky Garden'(11) and 'Herbal Garden'(13).

整形式庭園 / Formal Garden

南側から 

壁の門を抜けるとこの景色が広がり、私も他の多くの人も
「わ〜!」とか「おっ〜！」とか
声をあげます。

This scenery spreads out when we go through the wall gate
and I and many other people exclaim

"Wow!" or "Oh!"

北側から

城(修道院)も庭もカイルモア渓谷にあります。

庭は、その渓谷を利用したというべきか、庭の中に渓谷を作ったというべきか....

From North

Castle (or Abbey) and gardens are located in the Kylemore Valley.

I wonder if the garden used the valley or if they made this valley for the garden ...?

温室 / 'Glass Houses'

床暖房のようなシステムだったのでしょうか？

庭師さんの働きを見るたびに、白鳥の足(水面下の水かき)を思います。
(英語では鴨なんですね〜）

庭師の親方の家 / Head Gardener's House

庭師の親方が非常に大切にされていたのがわかる家です。
We can see that the master of the gardeners was very treasured by his house.

屋内 / Inside

暖炉が実際に使用されていました。　
泥炭を使用した暖を初めて経験しました。
雨降りで肌寒い日だったので、ここにいつまでもいたいと思いました(笑)。

A fireplace was actually being used.

I experienced warmth using peat for the first time.

It was a raining day and it was chilly , so I wanted to stay here forever (Laugh).

'泥炭入れ' に絵が施されています。
