❿2017年8月16日- アイルランド旅行 - 妖精の砦 / Ireland Trip - Fairy Fort, 16th of August, 2017

'妖精の砦'の正確な位置は、あれこれと資料をあわせて、グーグルで見つけました。

この辺であろうと思うところで、　Rに車を止めてもらいました。

そして見つけたのが、下の告知板と柵!

I found out the exact position of 'Fairy Fort' in Google using different sources of information.

R stopped the car  around where I thought it would be.

And I found the warning board and fences below!

In short, we cannot go in!

This National Monument is in the care of the Commissioners of Public Works for the State under the provision of the National Monuments Acts.

The Public are requested to aid the Commissioners in preserving it.

Injury or defacement is severely punishable by law.

つまり、入れません!

妖精の砦は、国定史跡 (National Monument) で、国の管理下にあるので、

一般人はこれを保護することに努めなければならず、危害、損害を与えた場合は法によって罰せられる...というようなことが書かれています。

Ballyallaban ringfort (Irish: Baile Albóin) 

or sometimes An Rath ("The Rath")

砦というよりは、'妖精の輪' の雰囲気があります。
Here has the atmosphere of a 'Fairy Circle' rather than a fort.

私が訪ねた時には、知りませんでしたが、'妖精の砦'には、"Ballyallaban ringfort "という、りっぱな正式名がありました。

また、"Ballyallaban ringfort "(土の砦)は、"Cahermore ringfort" (石の砦)と対になって、構成されているそうです。

"石の砦"は、'巨人のテーブル 'と '妖精の砦' の間の、R480号、道路のすぐ横にあります。

Although I did not know it when I visited, 'Fairy Fort' has a splendid formal name, "Ballyallaban ringfort".

Moreover, "Ballyallaban ringfort " (earth fort) is said to be paired with "Cahermore ringfort"(stone fort).

"Stone Fort" lies right next to the R480 road between 'Poulnabrone Dolmen' and 'Fairy Fort'.

バレン地方の景色を見つつ、ゴールウェイのB&Bに向かいます。
While I looked at views in the Burren, we were going to the B&B in Galway.

ヨークシャーデイルズとよく似ています。
Here is very similar to the Yorkshire Dales.
