I am very ignorant about roses so I do not know each rose's name.

However, I just found out about the Garden this year, so that this was the first time
I visited here.
What a surprised!
Rose Rose Rose World!
There are 2,500 types rose cultivars among 15,000 rose bushes and 72 arch rose clad pergola.
The plantings are not in parallel as a Botanic Garden.
The plantings show us examples of how roses can be combined into our garden.
Therefore there are many flowers which are not roses, though they serve as a foil to roses.
I can also see their aim "living dictionary of roses".
There are bright and shady areas, trees which make us enjoyable and relaxed.
And, of course they have a tearoom.

"薔薇園" / "The Gardens of the Rose"は、王立薔薇協会 / Royal National Rose Society が主催しています。
この協会は薔薇栽培と鑑賞を主な活動とし、1876年に創立されました。
130年以上前に、このような協会が設立されているのは、さすが
'ガーデン キングダム/ ガーデン王国' の英国という気がします。
薔薇園は、ロンドン北部のハートフォードシャー / Hertfordshire の
ですが、私はこの存在を今年初めて知ったので訪ねたのも初めてでした。
まあ、もう、すごい！
ばら、バラ、薔薇の世界です。
2,500の違った栽培品種の薔薇が15,000本の薔薇の茂みの中に植えら、薔薇で覆われた72のパーゴラ (花棚)のアーチがあります。
植物園のように、並列に薔薇が植えられているのでなく、薔薇を庭へどう組み込むかの具体例として植えられています。
なので、薔薇以外の花々もたくさんありますがそれらは薔薇の引き立て役ですね。
"生きた薔薇の辞典"を協会として目指しているのがわかります。
明るい所も、影のところもあり、木々もあり、楽しくもあり、リラックスもできます。
もちろん、ティールームもあります。

Over 130 years ago, a society like this was founded which makes me feel, indeed, Britain is a 'Garden Kingdom'.
The Garden is in St.Albans, Hertfordshire which is just to the North of London, so it is easy getting there from London.

| 巨大な蟻！ これは薔薇園の隣りが"バタフライワールド/ Butterfly World"で 蝶とその環境を守ることを目的にした施設です。 そこにこのオヴジェがあるのです。 2015年3月23日に再オープンしたばかりでした。 Giant Ant！ "Butterfly World" is next-door which is a facility for butterflies and their environment. Then this object is there. They just reopened 23rd of March, 2015. |
