Birthday Trip - Zuiganji Temple, 21st - 23rd of April, 2016

This is a copy of my blog, 2015 about Zuiganji Temple.

"In Kamakura period (1185 - 1333), it converted to a Zen temple ; Kenchouji sect and the name was changed to Enpukuji ; 圓福寺, however, just the Kanji characters were different the pronunciation the same.

In Sengku period (the end of 15th century to the end of 16th.), eventually it was taken over by the Myoshinji sect :
the Myohonji Sect of Rinzaishu Buddism Seiryzan Zuiganji Tmeple. "

The Approach
Last year people could walk up the main approach to Zuiganji Temple,
although this year people cannot walk there,
because now they worked for repairing the approach.
I felt the Great East Japan Earthquake, 2011
(the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku)
 damaged the
trees
and later other trees looked dangerous
so they knocked down more this year than last year.

Main Building
Last year, the main building was being repairing,
today it has become complete and
gorgeous.
We can see and go inside. (No photography inside)
However, we could see the inside of Kuri (Kitchen of Temple) , below.

The Main Building's Roof Tiles

Onigawara

Onigawara are a type of roof ornamentation found in Japanese architecture.
I saw a video in the Zuigan-ji Art Museum : Seiryuden which
shows how to make the roof tiles of the main building.
In the video  I found out that the ceramic tile maker is in Kyoto,
and for generations has worked making Roof Tiles.
After then I was interested in the roofs so I went to the main building again
and photographed the roof's tiles.
